RWN Foundation was pleased to support Rainforest Action Network’s Climate & Energy Program as an example of how an organization can work to support upstream, systemic reforms in the fossil fuel economy. RAN’s Climate and Energy Program initiatives work to disincentivize investment in carbon intensive energy sources and in deforestation.
Our funding will help RAN push banks and insurance companies to adopt policies restricting financing for fossil fuels, as well as support RAN’s efforts to pressure companies and financiers to adopt and implement policies eliminating human rights abuses and deforestation from their supply chains and financing portfolios. Finally, our funding will also assist RAN’s Community Action Grants program to provide rapid environmental-initiative funding for Indigenous and frontline communities globally.
